I think he is vastly unknown:

Major der Reserve Alfred Becker(* 20.08.1899 Krefeld)
18.05.1940: 1939 Bar to the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class
03.06.1940: 1939 Bar to the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class
13.05.1942: German Cross in Gold
01.09.1942: War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords
20.04.1945: Knight’s Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords (91)

- 1942 - : Chef 15. (Stu.Gesch.) / Artillerie-Regiment 227
summer 1943 - November 1944: Kommandeur Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung / Brigade 200 (Feld)

The pic shows Becker (left) with the German Cross in spring 1944 in France with Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel and Generalmajor Edgar Feuchtinger, Kommandeur 21. Panzer-Division.

Thank you very much 8)

But I still found nothing to add to the bio of Erich Weise from the "Wiking" who seems to be very interesting , too

As a friend of mine from Krefeld told me this weekend Volkmann & Co. does still exist ! I will try to contact them . Maybe they can tell something about postwar life of Becker .

Hello Dieter!
Ick hab' da mal ne Frage!

Jan-Hendrick and you wrote that on September 2nd, 1942, Hitler was in Berlin for visiting new tanktypes in the garden of the Reichskanzlei! But Hitler was on this day at his FHQ "Werwolf"/ Vinnitza. So your date is wrong! I will look at my datas for a list, when Hitler was in Berlin in 1942 (for example on May 29th, 1942). Or was the inspektion in another year?

Mjölnir, det is' n Ding !

My source should be http://forum.panzer-archiv.de/viewtopic ... 4801#84801
(But two other links are broken meanwhile). Of course you are right and I' m proud of my watching and all seeing brotherhood of experts.
We have to hear Jan-Hendrik and then we will humbly repair the damage :)

Hello Dieter!
At the time I work on Hitler's Itineraries of 1942. There I found this:
October 1st, 1942: He visits with GFM Rommel new weapons in the garden of the Reichskanzlei. The named weapons are Sturmgeschütz and "Tiger"-tank. Perhaps there were also Becker's tanks.

Hallo mjölnir,
the date is likely to fit for the decisive meeting, thank you
