Oberst Czimatis
Hannes,
Oberst Albrecht Czimatis was originally a Prussian artillery officer, commissioned into the Altmärkisches Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 40 on the 24th of March 1915. He remained in the Reichsheer between the wars serving mainly with the 4. Artillerie-Regiment. He was given a Reichsheer Patent as a Leutnant with seniority from the 1.9.1915 (320) and was serving as the Adjutant of I./A.R. 4 in 1923. Promoted to Oberleutnant on the 1.4.1925 (273) and to Hauptmann on the 1.8.1931 (2) he was commanding 2./A.R. 4 from at least 1931 - 1934. By 1932 he is shown as a Doctor of Engineering. Promoted to Major on the 1.12.1935 (64b) he is shown in January 1939 as at "the disposal of the Reich Ministry of Economics". He was awarded both classes of the Iron Cross and the Knight's Cross of the Baden Order of the Zähringer Löwen. Presumably still alive in 1944 as he is listed in the 1944 Dienstaltersliste.
Regards
Glenn
