Does anyone have any information of this officer, who commanded the reconnaissance battalion of the 16th Panzer Division in Russia in 1941? What was his first name? Was he related to Field Marshal Erwin von Witzleben? Anything would be appreciated.

Hello! Die Träger Des Ritterkreuzes Des Eisernen Kreuzes, 1939-1945 by Fellgiebel lists a Major Henning von Witzleben receiving the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 6 February 1942 as commander of Pz.Aufkl.Abt. 16.
