all I have on this gent is that he received the oakleaves for his U-boot Jäger work. Anyone care to fill in more info please ?

Otto Pollmann

born 03.03.1915 in Wesermünde
died 28.02.1958 in Leer

22.05.1940 Eisernes Kreuz II.Klasse
03.03.1943 Eisernes Kreuz I.Klasse
26.01.1944 Deutsches Kreuz in Gold
19.05.1943 Ritterkreuz
25.04.1944 Eichenlaub

Pollmann got his Ritterkreuz for 4 submarines he destroyed in only 7 weeks !!

At the time he was awarding with Eichenlaub he had 14 submarines destroyed or damaged.

Ingo good start ! this info from biblio KM RK buchs ? he also had a book written on him or his Flottilla richtig ?

to my knowledge:
The only confirmed victory (sunken submarine) is
brit. "Tigris", + 27.02.1943
All other successes are not confirmed.

This factum resembles the big difference in the case of Albrecht Brandi between his reported successes and the reality
with extremely fewer sunken ships and destroyers.

Pollmann entered the Bundesmarine 01.07.1956 as Korvettenkapitän (Dezernent für U-Boot-Jagd im Kommando der Marinewaffen, Flottenstab)
at last Verbindungsoffizier in einem NATO-Stab in den Niederlanden

28.02.1958 als aktiver Offizier verstorben
