Commander of Group Andersen at Taly (December 1942)?

Hello! In Le Operaazioni Delle Unità Italiane Al Fronte Russo (1941-1943), I found a passage which states Generale di Brigata Francesco Dupont, commander of the Ravenna Division, handed over the defense of Taly to the German Group Andersen in the evening of 19 December 1942.

Dieter previously posted the grounds for award of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross to Generalmajor Kurt Andersen of the Luftwaffe flak arm.

Does anyone know the exact location of this “important strongpoint on the central Don” defended by Andersen’s Flak-Regiment 153 (mot.)? In other words, could then Oberst Kurt Andersen have commanded Group Andersen at Taly or is this another person/unit altogether? Thanks for any assistance!

Best regards,
Shawn

Hello Shawn,

sorry for the very late answer.

Accoding the war diaries of the SS-Polizei-Infanterie-Regiment 1, Oberstleutnant (sic!) Andersen was commanding the German forces in Taly.
It's definitely Oberst Andersen, Kurt.
