GM ? Dr. Ing. Kennes

#1

Post by Balsi » 02 Mar 2005, 09:44

I look for a Heer-Officer named Dr. Ing. Kennes. I found him at the DAL 01.03.1939 as Oberstleutnant (since 01.10.1938) Dr. Ing. Kennes. He was z.V. at Chief of OKW/Stab der Inspektion der Ostbefestigungen and was part of Pionier-Bataillon 23 Berlin-Spandau. Buit what he did after 1939 till 1945? He definitely survived the war. I spoke to his familiymembers, but they dont know anything about the time in the war. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

The family spokes about a picture that showes him as an Generalmajor...but I dont found such a GM

Little supplement:
There was a "Ehrenhof"-Verfahren (procedure against) after the 20th July-plot. Guderian himself stood up for him !!

Bonjour Balsi

You will get some info inthis book"Widerstand Staatstreich Attentat" by Peter Hoffman 1979

I have only the french translation (it is impossible for me to translate the 4 pages 651 ,652 659, 660 speaking of general Kennes, Walter)

If some one can translate (French==>German or Englisch) I can scan these page and Email to you

Regards
JPK
