I wondered if you could help me see if some german soldiers who died in Russia in 1941-42 are listed? I can't figure it out since I don't read german. The names I am researching are
Imkel JAKOB, Willi BLOHN, Joseph HOVELMANN, Alfred BOHME, Heinrich SCHWARLING. I have pictures of graves in Russia with their names on the markers. Thank you.

Is this the site you are searching on:
http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche/content_suche.a
If so the fields to fill in are:
Nachname (Surname)
Vorname (Given name)
Geburtsdatum (Birth date)
Todes-/Vermisstendatum (Death or missing date)
Geburtsort (Birth place)
Fill in as much as you can, then click on the Suche beginnen tab.
You will then get a screen with a questionaire, the main fields being
Vorname (Given name)
Nachname (Surname)
Strasse/ Nr. (Street and number)
Land/ PLZ/ Ort (Country/ Postal Code/ City)
The rest of the fields are optional, and only those with * are required. This will install a cookie so that your next search can skip the questionaire. After that you can do as many searches as you need.
