Artilleriekommandeure (Arkos) - Choose Wisely

Hi!

I have a mess with 2 Artillery HQ brigade units. I would really appreciate if somebody could help me out.
Quotes are from Gareth Collins bios at http://www.geocities.com/~orion47

1. Artilleriekommandeur 18

I understand that the position of Arko 18 was vacant after Weidinger became inspector of army anti aircraft in 02/1941.

Gen. Lt. Hielscher
Commandant of Gnesen (10 Nov 1939-23 Jan 1941)
Artillery-Commander 18 (23 Jan 1941-15 Jan 1942)
Artillery-Commander 110 (15 Jan 1942-27 Apr 1942)
Gen. Lt. von Graffen
Commander of the 129th Artillery-Regiment (08 Mar 1941-28 Nov 1941)
Artillery-Commander 18 (28 Nov 1941-27 Mar 1942)
Gen. Maj. Kossack
Commander of the 1st Artillery-Regiment (01 Nov 1939-24 May 1940)
Artillery-Commander 18 (24 May 1940-01 Jul 1942)
2. Artilleriekommandeur 104

Gen. Lt. Böttcher (Karl)
Artillery Commander 104 (30 Sep 1939-01 Dec 1941)
Commander of the 21st Panzer-Division (01 Dec 1941-18 Feb 1942)
Gen. Maj. Krause (Johannes)
Commander of the 29th Artillery-Regiment (11 Nov 1939-01 Apr 1941)
Artillery-Commander 104 (01 Apr 1941-01 Jan 1942)
Artillery-Commander Greece (01 Jan 1942-29 Apr 1943)
Gen. Maj. Krause (Friedrich)
Commander of the 36th Artillery-Regiment (10 Nov 1938-20 Jan 1941)
Artillery-Commander 104 (20 Jan 1941-15 Dec 1941)
Artillery-Commander 142 (15 Dec 1941-01 Sep 1942)
Higher Artillery Commander Africa (01 Sep 1942-15 Apr 1943)
I understand that Friedrich Krause was replaced as CO 36th Artillery on 20.01.1941 by Thoholte. Now the strange part which might be related to the Arko 104 mystery ... I can´t find a single CO of Arko 142 since it was raised in Jan., 1941.

I know it looks more like a quiz ...

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Stauffenberg,

I don't know if this is much help but,
Formationsgeschichte u. Stellenbesetzung der deutschen Streitkräfte, 1815 - 1990, Teile IV, Abt. 1: Die Dienststellen, Kommandobehörden u. Truppenteile des Heeres, 15.Oct.35 - 8.May.45, Band 2,, by G.Wegmann/C.Zweng, Biblio Verlag, Osnabrück, 2000

lists Artillerie-Kommandeur 18 as:

06.10.36 - GL Kratzert, Hans
01.03.38 - GM Sinnhuber, Johann
01.09.39 - Ob. Martinek, Robert
01.06.40 - Ob. Kossak, Walter
13.07.40 - Ob. Weidinger, Wilhelm
23.01.41 - GM Hielscher, Paul
-14.04.42(meaning ending date) - Ob. Koske, Dr. Karl
14.04.42 - Ob. v.Graffen
02.11.43 - Ob. Walther
12.03.45 - Ob. Glantz

Sorry, not much.

Best Regards................JC

Hi Jeff!

Thank you very much. Your help is much appreciated indeed. I didn´t know that Koske is a further player in this match:
Artillery-Commander 18 (14 Apr 1942-01 Nov 1943)
I believe the top of the row could be correct, but not the entry of Martinek because Arko XVIII became Arko 7 on 26.08.1939 and Sinnhuber remained Arko 18 until May 1940:

6.10.36 - GL Kratzert, Hans
01.03.38 - GM Sinnhuber, Johann
01.06.40 - Ob. Kossak, Walter
13.07.40 - Ob. Weidinger, Wilhelm
23.01.41 - GM Hielscher, Paul
then Graffen, then Koske.

Yeep, makes sense.
