KARL STRECKER:
The promotion was proposed still before surrendering. In captivity notified officially by Friedrich Paulus.

Hi!

Here is an interesting quote. It´s a statement by Ken McCanliss:
The best evidence that Strecker was not a Generaloberst comes from the "Rangliste des Deutschen Heeres 1944/45". This is the 1 May 1944 Rangliste, with updates (in italics) to 1 May 1945. In it, Strecker appears (on page 16) as a General der Infanterie. (Hilpert's promotion to Generaloberst on 1 May 1945 is duly noted in this work, however.)
The ultima ratio of that quote is:
Strecker, Gen. d. Inf. 01.04.1942 (3)
