unknown general that died in June 1943 - help!

I have spent many hours in Polish Archives on research. I have encountered one document that says that 23.06.1943 during artillery training somewhere in Generalgouvernement German general of infantry died. General died when observation point was accidentally hit by huge German shell.

Is it possible to find out the name of that general that died in really unexpected accident during training?

A close-to-complete listing of Heer Generals who died of all causes (including accidents) appears at http://www.geocities.com/orion47.geo/CR ... alties.htm (courtesy of Ken McCanliss and Georges Croissier). Unfortunately, I can find none who died on 23.06.1943, and none at all killed in an accident during 1943. Are you certain he was a General?

Best wishes,

There is also no General who died in an accident in 1943 in:
Foltmann, Josef; Möller, Hanns: Opfergang der Generale. Die Verluste der Generale und Admirale und der im gleichen Dienstrang stehenden sonstigen Offiziere und Beamten im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Verlag Bernard & Graefe, Berlin 1952
