Thanks very much, everyone, for the kind words.

Because I am rude. Well, that's only part of the problem- I am deluged with PM's and e-mails, most of them seeking data on, I hate to say it, but obscure personalities (such as "My Uncle Fritz, don't know what unit he served with, but I think he won the EK II in Russia and ended the war as a Gefreiter"). I understand the frustration of those who get late replies or no reply at all, but please know that it's nothing personal- my time for research and correspondence reply is terribly limited these days. If you write requesting information and get no response, please feel free to post to the forums. Odds are, if your query is related to a Wehrmacht personality, you'll have better luck via the experts who frequent this ABR forum than you would with me.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.

A great improvement! By the way, why don't you reply to PM's or e-mail?

I understand the problem, but I had a very clear question, not some question about an unknown soldier. Of course I used all the World War Two Forums I know, but the information I received was limited. So, I contacted you, hoping that you would have additional information, because your site contains much great and unpublished information. But I didn't get a response. I took the trouble to write to you, and I think it would not have been a hell of a job to just send me a PM with "I'm very busy. I can't help you, sorry.", or something like that. That way I would have known what the problem was, but now I started to wonder if you in fact did receive the message or not.
I'm a little bit dissapointed, but now I know the problem, and I won't disturb you anymore.

If I didn't already say it, I'm sorry for the non-reply. For what it's worth, I am fairly certain the query you sent me would net a great deal of information on this very forum, dealing as it does with two noteworthy Generals of the German Army. My information on Heer Generals is limited to the sketchy biosketches in Wolf Keilig's book, plus the as-yet incomplete Biblio-Verlag series on the subject (which only reaches to about the middle of the alphabet at this time).
Best wishes,

On second thought, why am I apologizing? For six years I've been providing a free service, sustained only by my paycheck and an occasional donation. Common courtesy, maybe? Yes, it would be great if I could always be commonly courteous and attentive to everyone's needs and wants. Unfortunately, that is not always going to be the case.
