1929-entered Naval Academy
Served in surface ships,but volunteered for Subs
and sent to sub-school

1941-Was A KL,26/8/1941 made Cmdr U-505
1942- left above Command,Ibelieve was a KK,
taken ill while on patrol,asked to return to Lorient
and had an appendix removed.
1942-45 On staff of Admiral Donitz
After ww2-was a FK in the Federal Navy.

Part of the reason why he was transferred that during third patrol of U-505 he sank a Colombian sailing boat the 110 ton Roamar. Problem was that belonged to Colombian diplomat and it created a little diplomatic fuzz.
