Hello,

Can anyone tell me the location (city or state) of either Gen. Halder or OKH around mid-May, 1941, please?
Also any references which may be useful for looking up this info would be gladly accepted.

Thanks,
Neal

He was probably at Zossen in eastern Germany.

Unlikely, since OKH had moved to the the new Eifel HQ installations at Felsennest near Bad Münstereifel just before the attack. His diary gives no indication that he was elsewhere on the 19th, so I'd put him there.

All the best

Duh. Yes, Halder and the rest of OKH probably were trying to maintain the illusion of an attack against Great Britain, so keeping the HQ in western Germany to throw Stalin off would make sense. It worked.

Bugger, you are right of course. I was blinded and read 1940, instead of 1941. Forget my post. No idea from his diary where he was on the day.

All the best, and apologies

Andreas
