The death of General Angern

I've seen two conflicting reports regarding how Lt.General Gunther Angern Died ...one stated that he was shot during the last attack on the Tractor Factory Feb 2, 1943

Another report said that he and an Aide were making their way through the rubble when they were both killed.
I don't believe it was suicide
