Well , maybe Tieke has a mistake labeling him "Oberst" or this Hauser does not fit as the was not even OTL before June 1944 ...


See above for possible solution:
On the other hand Martin Hornig, who took part in the battles as a member of Hauser's SPW regiment, referres to him in his memoirs (Geraubte Jugend) as Major Baron Hauser.
Seems to be a quite tricky one !

I hope this clears up some things...

Oberstleutnant Paul Freiherr von Hauser:

Am 27.03.1944 zur H.Gru. Süd zur Verwendung als Rgts-Fhr. f. Pz.Gren.Rgt. versetzt.

As I am not very familiar with the Eastern front, please forgive me for my question, but can someone tell me which Pz.Gren.Rgt. he took over ?
