Only yesterday I happened across a pic posted by George in the Kriegsmarine vehicles thread (1 December 2011). Here we also have vehicles marked with the "T" (Piotr posed the same question I asked on the next page):

http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... &start=105

I think we can safely assume the "T" was used for vehicles in Transport columns, why the "T" was stencilled on is another matter :milwink: .

Some more "T"-signs, liberation of Tilburg. Source: local archive of Tilburg. Apparently these signs were very common :

I believe that is the insignia of the RAC Gunnery School.

Thanks Alan. 'I got blisters on my fingers' ( quote: Ringo Starr) while googling this bloody emblem!!!
Do you have an idea why some Cromwell IVs had number 27 and some 30 as their brige classification marks while the tank version is the same?

The Cromwell did get heavier as the Marks changed, I have seen one with 26 as the Bridge Class but that was a very early Mark.

It seems there was small number of Einheitsdiesels equipped with 2 cm Flak 30. All photos are from expired eBay auctions. The first one have information about time and location - Summer 1939, exercises in Brüsterort in East Prussia. I guess that next two are from the same exercises. Unfortunately I'm not able to recognise unit emblem, can anyone help?

And another mystery from East Prussia - two cars from unknown unit photographed on railway station in Allenstein (today Olsztyn), probably in 1944. Can anyone tell more about this "M" sticked to the windows? I'm not sure if this is unit emblem, looks like kind of temporary sign.

I can’t really see how this emblem looks like, but Flugplatz Brüsterort and Brüsterort itself seems to be a place where various Flak units were formed and trained. In 1942 a Feld-Flakartillerie-Schule 15 (Mitte) was established there.
Back to summer 1939, according to Michael Holm web page, II./Flak-Regiment 11 (gem. mot.) was in the area.
Some Luftwaffe books may have additional information about other Flak units which happened to be there around Flugplatz Gross Dirschkeim – perhaps ask in Luftwaffe section?

Vehicles have clearly visible Wehrmacht license plates so Luftwaffe sources are useless in this case.

I have some data about Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht units in East Prussia at that time but there are no connection between all this knowledge and emblem painted on these vehicles. Tessin doesn't list anything for Brüsterort

I don't know emblems of East Prussian unit which could look like this one. Tactical signs were not painted in such way but even if they were the only oval or near oval are backery ones.

The two cars belong to a Signals Unit, you can see the Signals tactical sign on the front left mudguards, so it is possible that the "M" in the windows refers to a function within the Signals unit, perhpas Meldungstelle ?

Tessin lists Feld-Flakartillerie-Schule 15 (Mitte) for Brüsterort, but in 1942.

It could be an 1.ID emblem in a white oval. Oval itself was also an emblem for 1.ID ?
Only Welle I Inf.Divs had motorized Flak company (in PzJ Abt).
No Panzer Div or ID (mot) in East Prussia in summer 1939. (Kempf didn't seem to have Flak unit).

1.ID shield looked different and wasn't painted on white oval.

No. It was assigned as a part of deception of enemy in March 1941 and I'm not sure if it was ever used.

Any ideas about this one? Taken in Belgrade, Serbia, end of 1941.
