Hello,
in the book of Georg Tessin, Verbände und Truppen der Deutschen Wehrmacht, Volume 13, page 131, there is mentioned:

Festungs-Regiment 924
Formed 26.6.1943 in Wehrkreis XIII for Italy, Regimental staff only, subordinated to 10.Armee, Italy, 1944 Verteidigungsbereich Venedig
Replacements by Gren.Ers.und Ausb.Btl. 125, Saarbrücken, WK XII

No further information is given there, but I hope it might help you a little bit!!

Regarding the replacement unit take o look here, too,
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... t125-R.htm the Fest.Rgt. 924 is mentioned there, but in the Lexikon der Wehrmacht, unfortunately, no further information were available …

Regards yours Roland

Can anyone provide a bio of Lothar von Seydlitz-Kurzbach who was mortally wounded while commanding this regiment?
There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.
