Here a picture of Sepp Dietrich at the Border from Saxonia to the Sudetengau, waiting his Leibstandarte to do the step over the former borderline:

Is a member know under witch command was the Panzer-Rgt. 15 during this operation ?
Re: Armor in Sudetenland 1938
According to notice of Hauptmann Wolf Eberhard (Adjutant bei OKW) in his Taschenkalendar, PzRgt 15 was assigned to VIII. Armee Korps / 2. Armee.

Re: Armor in Sudetenland 1938
Can someone please tell me which vehicle is shown in this picture?
I can't say I have ever seen this type.
Edit: after doing some searching in my library this seems to be a Polizei-Panzerkampfwagen ADGZ (M35 mittlere Panzerwagen). In 1938 the German Army received 27 examples from the Austrian Army, just a couple of months before the occupation of the Sudetenland. Series production was under consideration, but the events of 1938 precluded the completion of this possibility. In 1941 Steyr received an order from the Reichsfuhrer-SS to complete a further 25 new ADGZ for the SS. These were delivered during 1942 and used to fight partisans in the East.
In the picture above the turret seems to be reversed and the enginedeck to the front of the vehicle is non-standard. Furthermore it is interesting to see an exhaustpipe (?) next to the enginecovers.

It is undoubtedly anADG,,,,,,from the production for the Austrian Army.
This shot shows the rear od the vehicle, which is probably driving away from the photographer.
I believe the rear louvre arrangement standard, you just do not see very often.

A view of the rear, but from the right of the vehicle.

Thanks for clearing that up Sjashford. I never even thought of the possibility that we might be looking at the rear of the vehicle. :roll:sjashford wrote:This shot shows the rear od the vehicle, which is probably driving away from the photographer.

It explaines the exhaust though......

At Komotau there was filmed PzKpfw III Ausf. B/C with number "231" and PzKpfw III Ausf. A with number "233" from 1.PzD.
As Panzer Abteilung had to have three (1.-3.) leichte Kp. (only PzKpfw I, II) and one (4.) leichte Kp. (a) (PzKpfw I, II + 3xPzKpfw III + 4x PzKpfw IV) according to KStN 1.10.1937, I have a question:
How can be at 2nd Company any PzKpfw III as there have to be only PzKpfw I and II? Any explanation?

Re: Armor in Sudetenland 1938
There were no Czech prisoners, the occupation of Sudetenland was approved by all major powers and forced diplomatically on the Czech state. The few that were detained during the operation were returned to Czechoslovakia.
