Does anyone have any information on the following -
There is a list in the Bundesarchiv which is dated 7. August 1944. it has an order number - Tgb. Nr. 111/1236/44 g.k. The list is headed "Feldtruppenteile der Waffen-SS (Stand 1.8.1944)"
Besides listing several divisions/regiments (e.g. 29. SS Waffen-Division der SS "Rona" (russ. Nr. 1)) it also has listed " 25. Waffen-Gren.Div. der SS (ung. Nr. 1)"
Can anyone explain why the 25. SS-Division is listed 10/12 weeks before any agreement is signed between Germany and Hungary concerning the Hungarian SS-divsion's??

this list isen't an "is-overview" - its a list for SS-Standartenfhr. Brandt about
"avaible, located in creation and planed units"
in this list so many units listed never created too....

It is interesting to see that in the late summer of 1944 the SS-FHA may have been expecting to form a Hungarian SS division. Mind you, Kampfgruppe Deak had already been formed at this time and was in Waffen-SS service, eventually getting absorbed into the 25th SS Division by the fall of 1944.
