Officer training in 1942

Can anyone tell me the possible career postings for a senior Nco to become an officer in 1942, and whether Gebirgsjaeger Ncos followed a specific path? I assume prospective officers would go to the Schule für Offizieranwärter in Dresden or elsewhere before joinng their new regiment. I am researching an officer, Hauptmann Karl Siegle (d.16.02.1945) who was probably commissioned in the Spring of 1942 having become an Ofw.

best regards

Keith
