Re: AOK 2 in june 1941
Hello teg ; AFAIK KTB OKW July 03, 1941 since 00:00 hours the 4. AOK has taken over command over the 2. Pz Gruppe and 3. Pz. Gruppe. The 2. AOK was to take over all the infantry units of the 4. AOK.
By that time the 4. AOK had within its framework the following Army Corps: LIII (255. ID; 267. ID; 52. ID and 167. ID); XII AK (31. ID and 34. ID); IX. AK (263. ID; 292. ID and 137. ID); XXXXIII. AK; VII. AK (7. ID; 23. ID and 78. ID?) and XIII. AK (17. ID; 131. ID; 134. ID?). In his work Geyer stated: We were previously under the 4. AOK, then, as it became the 4. Pz AOK, we were under the 2. AOK; to our right was the XII. AK (same army) and to our left the VIII. AK (9. AOK).
As stated by Guderian at the end of July 1941 a new re-organization took place and the 2. Pz. Gruppe was not longer subordinate to the 4. AOK, being renamed Armeegruppe Guderian for the attack on Roslawl (reinforced with VII. AK and IX. AK; also the XX. AK IOT held the bulge of Jelnja).
At that time the 2. AOK had within its framework the (FLTR): XIII. AK (258. ID; 34. ID and 131. ID); XII. AK (17. ID; 112. ID and 31. ID); LIII. AK (52. ID; 267. ID and 255. ID) and XXXXIII: AK (134. ID and 260. ID?); also the 1. KD.
