Strength of 1. Gebirgsjäger-Division, summer 1944?

Hi all,

does anyone know the strength, or knows where to find appropriate Zustandsberichte for the 1. Gebirgsjäger-Division in summer of 1944? One German source claims that the division was "nearly at full strength" prior to its transfer to Eastern Serbia. Would it therefore be realistic to assume that the division had up to 20000 men at this point? The division was supposed to be reorganized to a Geb.Div 44 with a reduced complement of soldiers (18000) in July, but I haven't found any confirmation that this actually took place.

Thanks in advance,

G.
