A question puzzled me after checking this list. The famous "Kohlenklau" Marder II of Uffz. Helmut Kohlke from 3./Pz.Jg.Abt. 561 was shown in February 1943 to sport 19 kill rings. He might have scored 20+ but he is not in the list. Just wonder why.

Gentlemen,

I think there will be a lot of lesser known panzer aces that needs to be to discovered. It won't be easy.

Sincerely,

Gentlemen,

I'm surprised that there isn't much talk or written about aces who excelled in killing enemy armor with Marder panzerjager classes. Yes we already knew about the Tiger,Panther,Jagdpanther, etc. So far there isn't a single Knight's Cross holder among the Marder crews.

Gentlemen,

From page 205 and 206 of the book "Elite Panzer Strike Force" by Franz Kurowski. "The companies are to be informed of the following acts of bravery form within the division: While retaking Schiefbahn on 1 March 1945,Unteroffizier Eduard Job of the 3./PJLA 130 knocked out five enemy tanks in intense night fighting. It should be noted that Job has knocked out thirty-eight enemy tanks as a gunner on a tank destroyer." Job,who was already a recipient of the German Cross in Gold, was entered into the Honor Roll of the German Army and received the Honor Roll Clasp,a rarely awarded decoration.

Sincerely,

Gentlemen,

Two things to add. One,Richard Rambow got the Knight's Cross while commanding a Marder III. So I was wrong in not believing that there wasn't a single Knight's Cross holder among the Marder Crews. Two,Oberfeldwebel d. R. Erich Stolz was Eduard Job's commander of a tank destroyer. Stolz was awarded the German Cross in Gold on Feburary 11,1945. Not sure what was Stolz's final kill score over Allied tanks.
Sincerely,

Don't give too much credence to Franz Kurowski's books. He was very uncritical of the numbers reported from the front.

It was, per Ritgen, KaGru. Hauser that was fighting in the forefield of Mönchengladbach, reinforced by one Kp. of II./PzRgt. and one Kp. of the PzJgAbt.They claimed to have knocked out 15 enemy tanks in that engagement.

Gentlemen,

In two days, Tiger 217 of Feldwebel Kostler had destroyed 15 Soviet tanks. Nine on April 26,1945 and six within 10 minutes on April 27,1945. Kostler's score over Soviet tanks is unknown. Source is from pages 91 and 92 of the book "Tigers in Combat Vol.1" by Wolfgang Schneider.

Gentlemen,

Oberleutnant Anton Muller, company commander of the 4./Panzer-Regiment 35 was Obergefreiter Bernhard Himmelskamp's commanding officer and panzer commander. Muller had witnessed all forty of Himmelskamp's kills from outside his panzer right? My point is that Anton Muller should be among the list of panzer commander aces. How many kills that Muller had against enemy tanks before the end of WWII was unknown. Must have included all forty of Himmelskamp's score. Himmelskamp was a gunner of Anton Muller's panzer.

There is one panzer commander ace that destroyed 13 T-34 Soviet tanks in two days of 24-25 July 1943. He was Feldwebel Zwetti. Unit was 2./schwere Panzer-Abteilung 502. First name of Zwetti is unknown.
