I remember to have seen this picture on the net and this is Wunsche for sure.
I claim this by simple observation, although I cannot prove it.
I refound the pic on the web.
The following text has been put under it:
'SS-Obersturmbannführer Max Wünsche, commander of the SS-Panzer-Regiment 12, in the turret of his Panther on 7 June 1944. The Allied invasion of France had begun early on the morning of 6 June.'

Sadly, no references are given. But scrutinizing the picture, the commander's cupola of a Panther is easily recognizable.
Furthermore, Wunsche wearing the multicolored camojacket combined with a Panther with the latter hatch construction
clearly indicates that we are in at earliest late 1943- more probably as claimed june 1944.
His slightly theatrical positure and the fact that he wears an SS-officers cap that looks not only brand new but without the metal
in the brim removed, necessary to make the headphones sit appropriately, suggests that that this pic is taken for
propaganda/newsreel purposes.
By this time of the war, as commander of the Panzer regiment of 12.SS Pz.Div 'Hitlerjugend' Wunsche was somewhat of a military
celebrity- no less known in German newsreels than ppl like Wittmann, Meyer and such
