Here is another picture of a Panther destroyed at Marsanne (between Montélimar and Valence)(compared with pictures on page 1 of this thread):

And here are two pictures of a “Hummel” destroyed at Grâne (north of Marsanne, southest of Valence) during the fighting of August 27, 1944. In the 2nd picture the gun has been moved from its initial position (1st picture) and has lost his tracks.

Here are two pictures from ebay taken by Sergeant Barney Buckwald of the 182nd Military Police Company in Southern France. According to ebay, penciled in the back of the picture is the letter « M ». I strongly believe that it stands for « Montélimar » where the 11. Pz.-Div. battled US troops and lost many armored vehicles.

A Panther tank:

A self-propelled antitank gun, Marder III, with its 7,62 cm Pak 36 gun (no (r)). According the markings on the armor, it would be the 1st vehicle of the 2nd section and that would be of 1 Kp./Pz.Jg.Abt. 61 (according to an earlier post on this thread about the composition of the 11 PD).

Here is a picture of a StuG III supposedly taken in Mornas (Vaucluse), between Orange and Montélimar, on the Route Nationale 7, around August 26, 1944. From previous posts on page 1 of this thread, I understood that 11. Pz.Div. only had one StuG III operational in August 1944 and it was destroyed near "L'Homme en Armes" (near Savasse - Drôme) further north.

Was there actually a 2nd StuG III in the 11. PzD's inventory in August 1944 or is the picture mislabeled? :?

Recently a new division history was released by Stackpole. There are some photos included, but more of a text history.
