Excellent!! This is taken at La Villeneuve de Rots, isn't it? Do you know why there is ,in an other old photograph of that wall, the CO of the I./SS-PzGrenRgt. 26 SS-Stubaf. Bernhard Krause present with that Grenadiers of 15th Kompanie/SS-PzGrenRgt 25??
Here I have posted some other pics of that place. I found them on the internet.

I have seen those pictures before, very kewl. Another one shows the same MG42 gunner and a very mean looking Unteroffizer in the back ground ( He carries an Mp-40 with 2 stick grenades in his belt). I think the one I speak about was on the front page of SIGNAL.
Any one know the names of these individuals? Did they survive the war?

Thanks, Juha, for the Kraus pic, this was what I meant above. What do you think about those pics? Were they made at the same place or at La Villeneuve de Rots and at let's say Verson as Luther supposed it? And what about the pic of Wünsche and von Ribbentrop on the motorcycle? It is said that this one was taken at La Villeneuve de Rots on June 9th shortly after the attack of the 3rd Panzerkompanie of SS-PzRgt. 12.

It's hard to say from earlier pics to which place they were taken.I'havent visit the place and stone walls look very much alike
The pic of Wünsche&Ribbentrop is most likely taken on 9th.Wünsche was wounted on morning of 9th,he returned from Division's main dressing station in afternoon to withness illfated 3rd Company attack. And v.Ribbentrop returned to Divison on morning of 9th.Most sources agree that Wünsche&Ribbentrop returned to HQ with motorcycle as yours pic shows.
Cheers/Juha

Krause was present at the meeting in La Villeneau because the 1./26 SS. Pz.Gren. Rgt. had just recently (1300~) occupied Rots. If the 3./12. SS. Pz.Rgt. and 15./25 SS. Pz.Gren. Rgt returned from their failed attack the 1./26 would surely hear them return, as Rots is about 300m up the hill to the north of La Villeneau. It is normal for a Battalion commander to oversee deployment of his troops, so when the 1./26 relocated to Rots, I would expect Krause to accompany them.
Therefore, I propose that Krause went back down the hill to La Villeneau to get a report from Wünsche/von Ribbentrop, because the Rots sector was directly affected by the Canadians in Norrey en Bessin. This is why is he is seen in the alley, leading to the confusion over who exactly the photo is of. However, having visited the locations in question and researched the day's events methodically, I think that the abover series of photos were all taken in La Villeneau on 9.6.1944.
I disagree that the man with the MG42 in the photo which shows the Panzer is Klaus Schuh though, as if you compare that figure to the known Klaus Schuh picture (the photo just above), there are marked differences, like the length of the ammo belt on his MG42, and his Gas Mask cannister, which is absent in the pic with the panzer. There is another picture of the man by the Panzer with MG42, walking away from the scene, and it is clear in that photo it is not Schuh. I will post that photo next:

The man by the Panther with the MG42 is the same man as the one walking away; but they are not Klaus Schuh, as it is claimed above.
What you reckon?
