I check Munoz's "Hungarian Volunteers of the Waffen-SS, 1944-1945" and there is same info, without full names of the CO's.

But he gives a name of Brigade's Adjutant SS-Ostuf. Lajos vitez Körmendy-Wache.

Sorry for not giving you wanted names  ,
Kocjo

This name is misspelled, the correct name is Yngve Nordborg.

Quote from Perry Biddiscombe's "The SS Hunter Battalions"
Skorzeny established close relationship with Kàroly Ney, a wealthy Hungarian-Swabian industrialist and army officer. A militant fascist, Ney returned from the Eastern Front in 1943 and formed a tightly knit fraternity of anti-communist veterans. In the summer of 1944 he entered the service of Winkelmann and Höttl and was officially inducted into the Waffen-SS, being given command of a 1,500-man brigade attached to the "Maria Theresa" Division. Since Ney wanted to field guerrilla units behind Soviet lines, he was put in contact with Skorzeny, who was happy to provide arms, weapons and supplies for a "suicide unit" carved out of Ney's brigade. Ney used his contacts with Hungarian veterans to raise personnel, and in September 1944 he officially established the Halafejes Legio, or "deaths head" detachment. Training was conducted at a camp in the Bakony mountains, where German SS officers and enlisted men acted as instructors. Unhappily for the Germans, Ney proved both operationally incompetent and needlessly vicious with his own people, where were abused by the thieves, rapists and murdereres who found their ways into the ranks of his brigade. Perhaps because of these indiscretions, Ney had a falling-out with Skorzeny, who eventually withdrew his support. Ney then offered several hundred commandos to the SS "Florian Geyer" Cavalry Division, which reportedly dropped many of them behind Soviet lines. The rest of Kampfgruppe "Ney" was depleted in conventional fighting with the Soviets, although a remnant withdrew into Austria.
Any information on the use of commandos by the "Florian Geyer" SS Cavalry Division? Where they parachuted behind enemy lines?

A Hungarian book whose title I dont have to hand states that around 24 December 1944 the German army leadership had the idea of using SS Brigade ,,Ney” as a Reconnaissance and sabotage unit. It says that Ney rejected this request, saying that preparing for the tasks would have pushed the corps's combat readiness back by months and so SS Brigade ,,Ney” did not go on the parachute course.

Hi!
I.SS-Füsilier Bataillon Kdr. Franz von Károlyi.
He was the son of Imre Károlyi, and uncle of Julius von Károlyi, ( who was ministerpresident in Hungary between 1930-1932.)
Franz (Ferenc) von Károlyi with his batallion executed three captured american airmen, 5th of march, in 1945, and because of this he was sentenced into death ( with his commander, Karol Ney) by americans in 1946. Later the sentence was changed into life-long prison.

soldiers from the Károlyi ( I.Füsilier) Bataillon:
Franz Csihas, Miklos Bakos,
István Lengyel, Istvan Soos
They were also sentenced in the case of the three american pilots

( Franz von Karolyi may be the lieuteant-commander of the Brigade Ney )

Hi!
As far as I know he was SS-Hstuf, and not J graf von Károlyi, but graf Ferenc von Károlyi, and "J" must be a misspell of "F." from archive-sources.

In a "Der Freiwillige" article, SS-Hstuf. Paul Vadon was cited as being the III.Btl. Kdr. However, this man cannot be found in J.P. Moore's Führerliste; I think this information is not 100% reliable but I gave it just to let it know to you.

So, this unit never actually entered combat as an independent body and left no measurable impact on the course of operations?
