Some information from German prisoner of war.

PW from 1Kp, SS-Panzer-Aufklärungsabteilung 17:
The 1st and 2nd Co mission was to attack Rimling at 0300 Hours 8 Jan. This atk was supported by 3 assault guns and 2 Panther tks under command of 1st Lt Schmidt.

PW from 2Kp, SS-Panzer-Aufklärungsabteilung 17:
Spearheading this atk were 4 SP assault guns and 2 “King Tigers” the new type Tiger tank which according to PWs carries an 128 mm gun, has double aproning of armor, and according to the belief of the PWs is almost indestructible.

PW from 1Kp, SS-Pionier-Bataillon 17:
Attack group A according to PW supported in initial stages of attack on Rimling by 2 or 3 assault guns and 2 or 3 tanks of undetermined type.

From another PW: 3 Tiger tanks on Hill 392, one Tiger tank on hill 384 and 2 tiger tanks in Erching on 6 Jan.

Apart from Panzer Divisions, I would like to ask if anyone know the actual Panzer strength (StuG/Hetzer) of 19. 36. 256.257 and 559.Volks-Grenadier Divisions in Operation Nordwind like how many operational on Jan 1 1945 when the offensive started.
