The master list is updated according to the last contributions, thanks !

Attached is a photo of the Martin Buhr crew - Major Buhr, Kdr. Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 202. The barrels shows 15 kill rings I think. [source: Bildarchiv Reichskommissariat Norwegen (norgeslexi)]

unfortunately I have no scanner, but you can find it in the book

Claudius Rupp "Im Feuer gestählt", Panzerjäger der Waffen-SS, Division "Das Reich"

On page 32 and also on page 49 you can see this gun with the kill rings.

Hopefully another member of this forum can post it...

Tank commanders of Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler were simply the best in the world. Also all other soldiers of the mentioned division were the best soldiers of WWII.

This thread is not the place for discussions about which division was the best one, there are several other threads for such discussions.

No Unterfeldwebel Joseph Rampl (11th company of "GD") on the list - he knocked out 18 T-34 tanks near Kremienczug.

Also Hauptmann Bernhard Klemz from "GD" - he knocked out 3 IS-2 tanks in one combat (using Tiger tank).

Also Unterfeldwebel Raptz from 502 sPzAbt - he knocked out 10 T-34 tanks in a single combat.

The exact number of SS-Hscha. Karl Körner of s.SS-PzAbt.503 is 102 kills with his King Tiger , that's what he has written on the back of a portraitphoto. He also was credited with 26 Pak .

With the Knights Cross and PAB in Gold he became the highest awarded SS-Pz.-NCO .

Correction for Willi Fey : his total must be 73 (also in book of Normandy of Georges Bernage), with the 5 Paks he comes to 78 .

-48 Shermans
-17 Churchills
- 8 Cromwells
- 5 Paks

A post from Domen121 raising some good questions where split off into a thread of its own: Confirmation of tank kills in Axis armies.

The Wehrmachtsbericht (15.01.1944) mentions the 50th kill of a Lt. Kühn near Kirowograd. I think it's safe to assume that this Lt. Kühn is Hans-Jochen Kühn (9./Pz.Rgt. 36) who had received the Knight's Cross just three days before.
