Gentlemen,

From ww2awards.com. Gefreiter Sebastian Reiser had gotten the Knight's Cross for his feat of destroying 14 Soviet tanks with a light field cannon south of Padziechow during an armoured attack. Reiser is from Artillerie Regiment,297 Infantry Division. I sure there were similar feats like Reiser in using in a artillery cannon in destroying tanks.

Gentlemen,

Unteroffizier Elsner of Panzerjager Abteilung 88 had destroyed 28 Soviet tanks with his Hornissen (Hornet) anti-tank vehicle. The source is from a book "A Better Comrade You Will Never Find" By Helmut Schiebel. On page 241 of the book,Elsner mentioned his latest 27 and 28 kills respectively.

Anton Kreuzberg of Pz.Abt.Jag 525 had a score of 36+kills over enemy tanks. Awarded the Knight's Cross on September 21,1944.

Gentlemen,

Herbert Fries was the only one I know who was a high scorer on a Pantherturm. Surely there had to be others who excelled in destroying tanks while commanding a Pantherturm. Can you think of any names of others?

Oberfeldwebel Theodor Hönniger, 3,Kp./PzRgt. 25/ DKiG-Holder, is mentioned in his RK-Vorschlag to have achieved his 59th and 60th tank kill on 23.2.45

I know one by memory about Emil Berner of the Afrika Korps. He had 42 tank kills by 88mm gun. He served with the Luftwaffe Flak forces.

Oberscharführer Rudolf Roy (1./SS-Panzerjäger Abteilung 12) with his Panzerjager 39 was credited with 13 tank kills on August 9th,1944 with a 5 day total of 26 tanks and a career total of 36 up to that point. He was recommended for the Knight's Cross for this action.

This makes him in league with the much better known Wittmann and Barkmann in Normandy.

There is a moral in there for those that want to find it.

May he rest in peace. With just 24 he was KIA during Ardennenoffensive after surviving the fierce battles in the east and in Normandy.
Never outfought only outnumbered.
