Waffen-SS interesting photos
Re: Waffen-SS interesting photos
Certainly the picture is baffling.
A reenactment group would have put the eagle on the overseas cap...harness and binoculars looks very real.
The vehicle doesn't seems to be restored.

Re: Waffen-SS interesting photos
I think reenactors would also be displaying weapons for the camera and these two NCO's are not. I don't see anything on their belts, either. Decorations might be worn under the smock (left) and on the tunic the other sergeant is wearing under his Dot 44 camo uniform (on the right), if any.
The older appearing age of the sergeant on the left does not necessarily mean anything one way or the other as there was a manpower shortage. So far I think the photo is legit. What was it's source?

Two things make it look fake. The rear view mirrors on the "vehicle", and the king size cigarette that looks thin American store bought. Perhaps a blow up of the family in the background would help.

Re: Waffen-SS interesting photos
Thanks von thoma, very nice picture. Two question:
1. For what is the holster carried by SS-Rottenführer in the middle? For the SMG or for the motorcycle?
2. The man sitting in the sidecar just on his left has something white on his helmet. A helmet decal?
Thanks
Arto

Hello:
1) It's a map case, but may contain magazines for MP28.
2) It's a reissued World War I helmet M1918, with a left Heer decal.
