Thanks Semenov. That's an interesting info. However, could you explain to me if he was already died in 1923, so who was Prince Tundutov who collaborated with Nazis during WWII? My info came from Alexander Werth book that said Kalmuck volunteers who collaborated with Germans were Tundutov followers. Or, perhaps what he mean that they were followers of the late-prince...

If you are still there, Semenov, could you possibly tell me the source of your information about the life (and whereabouts and whenabouts) of Prince Danzan (Dmitri) Tundutov? The precise date of his tragic demise comes as a surprise (not that I know otherwise -- I believed that he just 'disappeared without trace'). Is his 'interview' with Brusilov authentic, do you know?
My sole source is the site КНЯЗЬ ТУНДУТОВ over the 'signature' Нина Ипполитова, with three uncaptioned photographs, which it would be useful to attach names to.
Thank you.

There are 2 Tundutovs father and son.

1. Danzan Prince Tundutov d.1923. His father was David Tundutov Duma Deputy, d.1907.
2. Nikolas Tundutov his son, who went to Elista 1942. He was alive in Paris in 1991.

The only biography of Danzan I know of is in Tri Atamans [in Russian] by V Markovchin, Moscow 2003.
Even that doesnt have a proper picture of him.

Do a Google search Тундутов Данзан and you will find some pics and infos of Danzan Tundutov .
He died 1923 ,his son Nikolai was in paris around 1930 ,he probably fled Kalmuckia .
Nothing more ,he was certainly not a pro nazi leader

Milke wrote that Nicolas Tundutov was alive in 1991. This interests me, but what I should very much like to know more -- indeed, as much as possible -- about is his mother, née BRIGER, Prince Danzan Tundutov's widow. I believe she spent (most of) the years leading up to WW II, and the war itself,in Paris, where she may have had an academic post teaching Russian literature. Her first name was KSENIA (with two sisters, Olga, and Nadia Nicolaeva, the latter being very well known as a ballerina and ballet teacher, married to Nicolas LEGAT whom she outlived by decades). I have next to no other information about Ksenia.
