?
Such and rarer historical photos come up on online auctions always, only not every single day.
(nice photo, Semenov, thanks for sharing)
Cheers,

Léon Degrelle was courtmartialled by the belgium state on 27.12.1944 by the courtmartial at Brussels.
Here the text (in french) published at the belgian statesnewspaper 'belgisch staatsblad' on 31.01.1945 on page 506.

Any information about Flemisch in German service (Waffen SS, OT, NSKK, Kriegsmarine, DRK, ...) during WWII is welcome.

Re: Léon Degrelle
Wim,
My understanding is that Lex Degrellana law in Belgium has yet to be rescinded even after Degrelle's passing more than 21 years ago.
And this is despite that the capital punishment had been abolished in Belgium since 1999.
Also, do you know if it is true that Degrelle's children were forcibly shipped to different detention camps and were not permitted by the Belgium government to contact their father?

Re: Léon Degrelle
In the verdict says that he should be publicly be executed at Sint-Gillis, Brussel.
The last person who was executed in belgium was on 8 august 1950.
So if he was extradited by Spain after 1950 he would have got live sentence.
Because he know a lot (probably some secrets) about the belgian politicians because he was a member of the parliament before the war, belgium would rather not have him back. They only asked Spain for the form his extradition.
There are some laws made to give some sort of pardon but the persons had to admit that they were wrong (plea gilty).
1 Degrelle is a person who certainly wouldn't do that
2 he was a leading figure so i guess for him would be more difficult
3 With his dead in Spain the "problem" is solved for the belgian government no need for extra actions.
What his children concerend i don't know but it is good possible.

Re: Léon Degrelle
Protected by the Spanish regime, Degrelle lived in Spain wonderfully, was adopted under a spanish fake name ( León Ramírez Reina ).
Admired by many young followers, he created a far-right political movement in Spain ( CEDADE ), and with this group he published
several memories books. I had occasion to see him, wearing his granted oak leaves, on the lapel of jacket.
He spoke Spanish with a strong french accent, and he was really a very cordial man.
Rugged arrival of Degrelle's He 111, on San Sebastián beach ( Guipúzcoa ).
