Hello

A small question, it seems that on some pictures the POA schield is on the left overarm, but on some it is on the right?

It seems that the pictures is NOT reversed, but why the difference?

PS: There were a lot of POA units / soldiers in Denmark during the occupation, will try to find some pictures.

Regards
Kurt

Russian special sources talks:
left arm - independent from Wlassow units (Ostbatl. and other units)
right arm - pro-Wlassow units (Dabendorff, KONR division and other)

Here is a related but probably more difficult question:

When deployed in the west, did ROA units use standard German issue weaponry, or captured arms of one type or another? Any verified/known photographic evidence that displays this?

Thank you,
Pat

Hi Tom, I post the pic in here because sometimes if the ebay auction is expired, the link doesn't work anymore.

I came across this in a Signal Magazine. Signal the Years of Retreat 1943-45 published by Hamlyn/Bison Books. (1979)

Fiodor Ivanov is a Russian. Since the beginning of the eastern campaign numerous members of this people have volunteered to take part as soldiers, farmers or mechanics in the liberation of their native land from Soveitism. The Russians, who had been cut off from the rest of the continent by the wall of Bolshevism, have thus joined in the fight for the liberation of Europe. Their conception of Germany derived from more than twenty five years of Bolshevist propaganda is under going a complete revision.

There are a few more wee snippets from 11 different groups of Soviet citizens fighting for the Germans plus a Ruthenian. I can type them up and post them if there is anyone who wants to see them.
