White Russian emigres/Russians in the Wallonie Division

#1

Post by Panzermahn » 16 Jul 2010, 08:17

Hi all

I have a couple of names (maybe Semenov would know more) of Walloons of Russian descendents as well as White Russian emigres in the Wallonie Division.

One would even volunteer for the division in March 1945 (!), a few weeks before the end of the Third Reich.

Georges Tchekoff is one of the well-known Walloons in the division who descended from Russian ancestry.

Does anyone which company or unit in the Walloon division that has the highest number of these Russian Walloons?

F.K. Gruber's memoir does not mentioned any such specific unit in the Wallonie Division

Thanks
Panzermahn

Hi Semenov

Thanks. By the way, I think I got the spelling incorrect for the name I posted.

It should be Nikolai Ivanovich Sakhnovsky (Sakhnowski?) rather than Sahnovskogo

Hello Semenov,

Very interesting topic of white Russians serving in the Wallonie division. I have wrote several articles and have done much research on the Rexist Silver and Bronze (Formations de Combat) Badges of Honor. If you should need any information and or pictures on this subject please contact me at my email [email protected] I look forward to your book. Thanks, John

Hello,

I read a post listing whom I believe was my great grandfather Leonide Stoupine, I am researching his involvement during the war and thereafter. Would anyone have suggestions how to further this. I stumble on your website by googling the name.
Thank you
