The colours of Croatian volunteers receives a blessing by Roman Catholic priest. Source AHF.
I wonder if the priest would have given a plessing to the 369th ID known as Vrazja Divizija (Devil´s division or diabolic division), which even had a devil figure on its pole top.

Translated caption from the second photo:
Father with the right to carry mitre Dr. Vasyl Laba serves Divine Service [liturgy] at the SS-Truppenübungsplatz Heidelager, autumn 1943
Explanation: mitrat = priest who has the right to carry mitre (form of headdress), despite not being consecrated for a bishop

Thanks Eisvogel,
for interesting information. Here a pictures ceremony. If the picture is related directly to volunteers or not is the question. As there is no presence of SS, I doubt Galizien division.
with best regards

Hi Mujo,
nice to hear that you like the thread. Many thanks also for your pics of Handschar division.
There has been some information about latvian and estonian volunteer´s chaplains in AHF. But did they ever wear a military uniform?
Here a picture of supreme religious leader or Lama of Kalmuckische Kavallerie Korps. Not confirmed. Do somebody have any additional information. It would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Arto

Hi,
A well known photo but first time in a bigger size. At least to me. Members of Ostturkischer Waffenverband der SS laying down a carpet for their religious ceremony. The obermullah Nakib-Chodja, Nureddin seems to be there.
