Kaminski brigade on the way to Warsaw?

Postby Arto O on 28 Jan 2012 23:06

Hi.
Here two photos, which I would like to know if there is any realtionship between them.
The first one is from Christopher Aislby "Mercenarios de Hitler" and the second from Janusz Piekalkiewicz "Eurooppa Tulessa". Both claiming that it is the RONA brigade on their way to Warsaw.
What is curious is that on the second photo one of soldiers is wearing SS runes in his collar patches.
Saludos

The emblem on the truck would suggest a different unit.

It's possible as trucks are often used to ferry soldiers from diffrent units. It is also possible that the truck has a mix of men on board. There are many situations where battalions of men are shipped from combat back to a camp in mixed groups.

Thanks

Indeed I fail to see the thrill and enjoyment of dolls that symbolize this brigade.

Odd.

Hi,
As far as I know, the first man in the last photo should be the mayor of Lokot, K. Voskoboinkov, who started to collaborate with Germans, and later was killed by partisans and Kaminski followed him. Kaminski himself is on the second row right. But who are the others?
Two other photos of Kaminski brigade, which sometimes is diffucult to identify positively as sleeve shields of RONA and ROA are very similar in distance.
With best regards
Arto
