Who is this officer?

Postby Arto O on 27 Mar 2012 03:47

This officer at left was indentified being from LVF, BUT if so, why the colours of his sleeve shield are horizontal, and not vertical like the colours of France. In my "wild" dreams I was thinking in one of the Russian sleeve shields, which I never have seen a photo: from up to down: white/green/red. Because the upper part seems to be white. The shade of the photo, gives me an idea that it appeared in Signal magazine. Maybe the tall :D German officer at right can help in the identification of place and time.
Thanks
Arto

Hi,

The officer on left is colonel Labonne of the LVF. His tricolor shield is of the first model. The german officer with glasses is unknown but we can see him again in Normandie in 1944 close to Jacques Doriot.

Regards.

Thanks again Semenov,
Now I got it. The text "France" is not visible in the picture, just looking like white band. It is a huge badge.
With besr regards

how can it be the colonel Labonne???
the arm shield isn't french flag....

I have many photos of colonel Roger Labonne. and this man isn't him :D

his arm shield is horizontal ...so it can't be french...french flag is vertical...you all know that.
