The following is a tidbit from the Waffen-SS Encyclopedia, by Marc Rikmenspoel, page 192:

"A small number of Spaniards were in the Bandenburger units that became SS-Jagdverbände Südwest from the autumn of 1944. With them, there may have been 300 Spaniards in the Waffen-SS. The 'Spanish' volunteers in German services always included individual Portugese (sic) who were counted as Spaniards."
