hello,
This is my first time on here, I found out about it by accident, and I am so pleased I have.
I have a query re;
SS-Grenadier Ausbildungs und Ersatz Brigade 15
Postby VJK on 09 Mar 2008, 22:43
SS-Grenadier Ausbildungs und Ersatz Brigade 15:
Formed on 21 December 1943 from Ersatz- und Ausbildungs Battalion der 15. (lett.) SS Freiw. Div. Renamed Lettische SS-Ausbildungs un Erstazeinheiten 15 in July 1944.
Signals Kp.:
1944 - 1944: Waffen-Hauptsturmführer Grasis.

My grandfather JANIS GRASIS, All the information I have about him is that he was a high ranking officer in the Russian/Latvian Army, after WW1. he was born in 1875. I have been searching for any info on him for over 10 years.
I am wondering if this is him, or possibly a family member.
Is it possible to get any info on this person? or is it possible to access any old Military records. I would love to know more about him and would be so happy to get a photo of him. Can anyone help me? thanks Margret from Australia

The best way to find information about your grandfather to ask from http://www.volksbund.de
if they know nothing try to find his name in obituaries in Tevija http://data.lnb.lv/digitala_biblioteka/ ... ti/Tevija/
