Info about Great Uncle

Post by Thierrymain » 08 Sep 2014, 21:19

Hello everyone,

Im not sure or im at the right place but i will give it a try.
My great uncle was an sturmmann of the Third Reich.
His name is: Jan Scheer
1916-1943
Birthplace: Gouda / Stolwijk
Country origin: Netherlands.

I would like to have more information about him, like as much as possible.
The highest award for me would be a picture of him but i think that will be not easy.
Are there some people over here who might be able to give me more information?

Which officially rank was he at the end?
On which locations was he stationed.

Just things like this, if anyone has more information.
It would make me VERY happy!

The L.A.H. was certainly considered an elite formation.... but the ultra-restrictive "Pure-German" standards were for the prewar A-SS LAH formations (Black uniforms).... the Waffen SS version was open to Volkdeutsche and other "Volunteers" (mostly from Western or Northern countries...)....especially as losses mounted and replacements became harder to find.
