Information on life in Konigsbruck, 1942

I am new to this forum, and I was delighted to find it.

I am interested in Subhash Chandra Bose. I live in Singapore where he was very active, and I have written short stories in which the Indian National Army is part of the narrative (though Bose does not appear personally in my stories). I have found it easy to write stories set in India, Singapore and partly in Myanmar.

One of my published stories is available here: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1 ... DVPcCmSyCU. My writing website is http://www.akkulshreshth.com.

I now want to write a story set in Konigsbruck of 1942. I would like to have a soldier from the Indische Legion as a character. I will be grateful for some pointers to information specific to that place and time, and to the living conditions of the Indian soldiers and their interactions with the local population of the town.
