In 1944 CO of Waffen Grenadier Regiment der SS 81 (italienisches Nr 1.) was ex colonello of Kings Italian Army and then Legion-Standartenführer der SS Peghini. His predecessor from 29.02.1944 was Legion-Standartenführer der SS Corrado Casabuoni and successor - from ? November 1944 was Waffen-Obersturmbannfürer der SS Carlo Federico degli Oddi.

In excellent book Sentire-Pensare-Volere! lack info about him.
Who know more data about Legion-Staf. Peghini, first name, date of birth and death or military career?

Hi - Kurt Mehner's Die Waffen-SS und Polizei 1939-45 list degli Oddi as the only CO of the WGR 81.

What is your source for this Peghini guy? If Sentire, Pensare, Volere and Mehner don't list him as CO, he never was the CO of WGR81.

Waffen-Staf. d. SS Giuliano Peghini was CO of 1st regiment after Staf. Casabuoni and before Waffen-Ostubaf. C.F. Degli Odi. Except book Sentire - Pensare - Volere info about Peghini exists in Italian newspaper " Acta" 2010 No. 73 http://fondazionersi.org/mediawiki/imag ... Acta73.pdf
