Hello Dear Jos!

Where did you find this interesting information???
Could you show us your sources?

As I know Gren. Reg.1607 was Russian or Caucasia, but may be some Armenians too.

All the best,
Eduard

russ. Gren.Brig. 599 (bo).

Image

GrenRgt 1607 (kauk.)[formed am 27th March 1945]
CO GrenRgt 1607:
CoS:
CO I./GrenRgt 1607:
CO II./GrenRgt 1607:
CO III./GrenRgt 1607:
Stabs Kp. <--- 5.(Georg.)/Kf.Trsp. Rgt 23

II./1607 <--- Nordkauk. Btl. 836
III./1607 <--- II./SdVerb "Bergmann" (Azerb.) & I./111 (Azerb.)
13 (IG) Kp. and 14 (Pz.Jg.) Kp. <--- Armenians
The GrenRgt 1607 was a Caucasian unit

You can read very often that the russ. Gren.Brig. 599 (bo) was part of the
ROA (Vlasov's Army); but that is wrong.
The russ. Gren.Brig. 599 (bo) was always a part of the German army.
Only the Gren.Rgt. 1604 (russ.) was -after fighting at the eastern front for
some weeks- transformed into the ROA.

Juanjo

Leutnant Sarkisian was killed during the battle for Perekop. He was a commander of 11th Armenian Coy "Bergmann".
Leutnant Sachverdian - I know, that he just was a commander of Armenian special platoon "Bergstrager" of SV Bergmann from march to September 1942.
leutnant Aliskirov (azerbaidjan) was killed during the Warshau uprising.
leutnant Alimbarasvili (georgian) was killed in Yugoslavia in the end of 1944.
leutnant Ljanov (azerbaidjan) was a commander of 7th Azeri Coy.
leutnant Nogaev (tscherkes) was a commander of 12th (kauk.) Coy. (shooted by Soviets in 1946.)

I hope, that my info will help ypu

I hope that someday the book will be published in English, so our friends from Europe and the USA can read it too :)

There is an alternative option for those who read German but not Armenian:

JELOSCHEK, Richter, Schütte and Semler. Freiwillige vom Kaukasus: Georgier und Tschetschenen auf deutscher Seite - Der “Sonderverband Bergmann” unter Theo Oberländer. 2003. 374p. 80 illustrations.

This is a very detailed work on Bergmann and I can't imagine that much was left out.

Hello everybody ,
I've some new questions:

During the war there was the so called "Nordkaukasisches Komitee" in Berlin . Those people were responsible for the propaganda and other political actions, among the Nort Caucasian volunteers.

Does somebody know the names of those people, and what happened with them after 1945 ?
Is it true that the leader of the North Caucasian Comittee was an Ossetian: Lazar Bicherahov ? Or was it somebody else ?

http://ossetians.com/eng/news.php?newsi ... e237472e83

Was Vassan Giray Jabbagi (Cabbagi) a member of that Comittee ? I have found some information about him, unfortunally it's in Turkish and my Turkish is not so good...
