teg,

You can create lists of the generals killed using the search function on my site. However I don't claim it to be complete.

Australia 1
Canada 2
China 32
France 13
Great Britain 16
New Zealand 1
Poland 3
Soviet Union 250
US 13
Yugoslavia 1

Note that the British Commonwealth figures includes Brigadiers.

Kind Regards

I only include generals as I had to limit my scope somewhere ;-)

From Czechoslovak army, brigadier general, commander of 1st Brigade of Czechoslovak Army Corps (on the Eastern front) Jaroslav Vedral-Sázavský was killed (by mine on liberated ground of Czechoslovakia) on October 6th 1944, and divisional general Vojtěch Luža was shot by (Czech) gendarmes, on October 2nd 1944, when hiding in (so called) Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia as chief exponent of Czech resistance.

(Some more Czechoslovak generals were executed by Germans, for example Alois Eliáš - and from 137 generals of pre-war Czechoslovak army 24 did not survive the war - they were either shot by Germans, or tortured to death in concentration camps).

It's all right, you did not claim your enumeration to be complete.

Jiri, can you give the names of the 24 generals who did not survive the war? do you have a list on retired generals who died during the war?
