Cpt. George S. Wuchinich (OSS)
I'm looking for info on his war time and OSS related time. He came to Slovenia on 29.11.1943 and was awarded DSC for his work here.
Regards,
Klemen

For some information, probably not much on his wartime service, contact the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC):
National Personnel Records Center
Military Personnel Records
9700 Page Avenue
St. Louis, MO 63132-5100
Check this link for information on how to make an information request and for an SF 180 form:
http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/
http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/milita ... m-180.html
Unfortunately, most WWII military records burned up in a fire in 1973, but because Wuchinich's name is towards the end of the alphabet, maybe it was spared.
Since Capt. Wuchinich later came under scrutiny for alleged communist ties, contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for a copy of their investigation file on him. When making the request state that you are making the request “under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).” Because Wuchinich is apparently deceased (see below), the FBI will release a copy of the file to you for a copying fee.
The Social Security Death Index (SSDI) lists only two Wuchinichs, one of them a George. If this is the right man, he was born 10 Aug 1907, died November 1979, last residence was in Mount Kisco, Westchester County, New York. Perhaps his obituary had information on his military career. Write the public library in Mount Kisco, New York requesting a photocopy of that obituary. They may charge you a very small fee for copying.
Because he was an OSS operative, the CIA may have information on him. Like the FBI, request the information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Re: Cpt. George S. Wuchinich (OSS)
I am the son of George Wuchinich. He is deceased 19791129. He has described his war experience in Yugoslavia and then China is his unpublished autobiography.

To eldaveed:
I am a former history professor interested in the OSS activities in China during WWII and particularly in the group led by Captain Wuchinich who made contact with the Chinese Communists in 1943-1945. If you are his son and have the Captain's autobiography, please contact me as soon as possible because I have first hand materials which can complement and cross reference your materials.
