General (USMC) Alfred Houston Noble

Marine Corps General Alfred H. Noble went on to have a successful post-WWII military career, retiring as a four-star general in 1956. From information found on the internet, it appears that he served in the Netherlands during 1952 - 1954. Can anyone clarify the nature of his posting there?

Thanks,

AJK
