Yugoslavia arm sales to China

#1

Yugoslavia would have wanted to do anything it could to help finance its own defence needs. It is possible that Chinese agents would approached to buy new or used arms and as well as ammunition. I do not have a single citation of there being any trade. But I am prone to speculate. See postings on this board relative to Denmark, Belgium. A Yugoslaviafreighter was in Shanghai, if I recall correctly the Tomislov, in the spring of 1940 and was seized by the Italians. Why in Shanghai then? Details of its seizure and what happened to the crew would be interesting and may be recorded.

I'm pretty sure that Yugoslavia did not sell weapons and military equipment to China. But it is quite possible that Germany sold arms and military equipment to China over Yugoslavia. So Germany is selling ammunition to Greece during the Greco Italian War.

Many thanks for your response. It was an avenue I thought was worthy to explore.
