Dominican Republic Army of Trujillo in the 1930's

I'm hoping some one can help me out with what the uniforms looked like in the Dominican Republic during the mid-1930's. I'm working on an illustration that is set in 1937 and would like to incorporate some accurate army soldiers in it - officers, enlisted men, even maybe Trujillo himself. I found later images of both he and the army but they were from the 1950's. Hope the experts on here have access to some reference I don't!

hello

like all the others occupied republics (Cuba Panama Nicaragua Haïti) where the national army was disbanded or reduced to a national guard or gendarmerie and rebuilt with US style uniforms

some pictures here (1936)

Thanks Loic, that helps a lot. I figured they were based on US Marine Corps uniforms, but now I know for sure. I wonder if anyone knows what the rank system looked like and if they wore some kind of crest or something on the campaign hats?
