Totalize bombing Aug 8 1944

By chance an air recce mission caught part of the air bombardment for TOTALIZE.

Taken on Aug 8 1944 the recce pics show a group of 12 B17 (first 2 photos) just after they dropped their bombs.

Nevermind, I read it as though a "ground" recce unit was bombed

I wonder if those photos were taken by the same plane that Meyer noticed circling overhead just prior to the German counterattack

Same flight (two darker aircraft) on their way from an earlier frame. Not very good formation discipline!
